About British Columbia Turkey

The BC turkey industry is a robust network of farmers, processors, service providers and suppliers. These companies work together to ensure a sustainable and high-quality supply of turkey products for the domestic and export markets. Two organizations that support the sector include the Marketing Board and the Growers’ Association.

Marketing Board

The Marketing Board is responsible for regulating the BC turkey industry. It is granted authority to do so through the Natural Products Marketing (BC) Act and the BC Turkey Marketing Scheme. Primary activities include licensing turkey farmers and processors, managing a quota system for regulated production, setting the price of live turkey (paid from processor to farmer) and promoting turkey products to the general public.
